Canon Character Information
Appearance: As Kara Danvers, once overworked secretary of Cat Grant, now turned budding reporter, Kara very much looks the part of a meek, studious preppy young women, often with her hair pulled back, constant touches to her glasses, and a wealth of argyle. She is meek and mild, as easily made shy as she is suddenly and easily made excitedly bright as the sun.
As Supergirl, she is a world of confidence and hard work. The banner of truth, hope, justice, and the American way, and world she has so come to love. Her hair is free and curled, her costume is a bold statement with traditional calling back to her own people, while, also, standing in parallel to her cousin’s choices in Metropolis.

Personality:
While Kara’s childhood was a good one, even while she had to hide her powers, she’s grown up in the shadow of her cousin and the shadow of the knowledge her time in the Phantom Zone, frozen for over two decades, stripped her of the job she was sent to Earth to do: take care of her cousin. Who needed no help, and had already become Superman, by the time she arrived still as a 13 year old.
Having to hide herself for all of her life, after touching down on Earth, Kara started to shine her most when she was finally given a reason to use her powers for good instead of simply shoving them down. She went into being Supergirl with the aplomb and excitement of a child finally freed from the closest, which led to many mistakes and missteps as she had to learn to be a hero, and the cost and miracles that came with that, not simply being able to become who and what her cousin, Superman was on her first day.
Becoming Supergirl, also, changed her personal life, giving her slowly more traction to show her opinions and worth in her work, making her find ways to stand up to her boss, even though this too was full of trial and error, as were her other growing relationships that dominio’d from there.
The revelation of her best friend being in love with her led to awkward times, as Kara realized she was falling in love with her cousins’ once best friend. Even though that, too, had to pause as she became more of herself and Supergirl. The relationship with her sister, as the reveal of Supergirl, revealed her sister’s own lies and employment with the DOD, but this, also, led to them working together and becoming even closer.
Kara at her certain, even without her powers and the costume, believes in hope, truth, and justice. She believes that people are at their core innately good and want to choose the right path, if given the ability to, no matter how far down the wrong path they might have already gone. But she isn’t weak or a pushover and she will protect people against all of those who will not make those same decisions.
She isn’t without her own faults and blind bias’s though either, as she has deeply entrenched views about Luthor’s after what happened between Lex and Superman. The same, she holds deep bias’s and opinions about Daxamites, which was the planet that fought a bloody war to a stalemate with her own homeworld, making it hard for her to accept or deal with Mon-El when he appears on Earth in her second year of being Supergirl.
But Kara, despite her bias’s hopes beyond all reason, and believes that people can make differences, which is why she tries to give Lena Luthor small shards of her faith even uncertain and untrusting, why she continues to reach out to her aunt even after she’s wanted or tried to hurt her several times, why she works past her own issues to help Mon-El, as the only survivor of his planet, too.
The first person to tell you she’s not perfect, Kara tries her best being both parts of who she is, without letting one overwhelm, supersede, or obliterate the other. At her core Kara is a good person, learning still how to live on the second planet that is her home, with the family who loves her, both Kryptonian and Human, and to be the best person she can possibly be, no matter how many of those moments are falling down before she can fly.
